Xunantunich Mayan Site and Ziplining
We start by picking you up at your resort or meeting us at our tour shop. A pick-up time will be given to you depending on where you are staying. Once picked up, we will take you to breakfast. You have the option to fly over to the mainland or take a water taxi. After breakfast, we will check in 30 minutes prior to the scheduled flight or water taxi departure. If you choose to fly over, it is a 15-minute flight from San Pedro to Belize City and back. If you choose the water taxi option, it is a 1 hour 30 minute boat ride to Belize City. In Belize City, you will meet your tour guide for the day. From Belize City to the Xunantunich Mayan site, it is approximately a 2-hour drive to the village of Succotz in the Cayo district. Once on the Maya site of Xunantunich, your tour guide will take you for a walk around the area and give you the full history of the Maya site. You could also climb on top of the Maya temple altar, which is approximately 150 feet in height. After you finish coming down the Maya temple and returning to the vehicle, it will be approximately a 1 hour drive to the village of Frank Eddy for lunch. After lunch, it is about a 15 minute drive to the area where you will be conducting both your ziplining and cave tubing activities. Our tour guide will walk you to the ziplining section, and you will be introduced to your ziplining guides. It will be 6 platforms, starting at about 25 feet in height, and as you proceed to each platform, it will get higher and longer than the last 2 platforms, which are 1000 feet long. Once back in the vehicle, it will take approximately 1 hour to get to the Belize City municipal air strip. You will be checked in and fly back to San Pedro, where one of our staff will pick you up and take you back to your resort.
