Mexico Rocks and Secret Beach
Mexico Rocks and Secret Beach is a tour that has both snorkeling and some time on the famous secret beach by boat. The tour begins by either meeting us at our tour center or arranging a pick up from your resort. Once on board, it is a few minutes boat ride to our first stop at Mexico rocks marine reserve. Mexico Rocks are divided into two sections; the lower patch reef system and the upper patch reef system. Here, our licensed tour guide will give you a briefing on how to properly use your equipment alongside rules and regulations that will need to be followed. Mexico Rock is a patch reef system between our barrier reef and our shore line. Water depth is an average of 10 ft. Once in the water, you will be snorkeling on top of patches of corals surrounded by marine life. There are fish all around you when you are snorkeling, full of fish like snappers, sting rays, parrot fish, angelfish, butterfly fish, and spiny lobster, just to name a few. Once on board and after a break, the boat will move to the upper patch, where you will have the opportunity again to snorkel with the school of Sergeant majors, snappers, and groupers. Once on board, it is a 40-minute boat ride to secret beach. At Secret Beach, you could purchase your lunch and choose from one of the many restaurants and a bar located there. Secret Beach is a very popular place located in the west side of the island of Ambergris Caye. It is about 8 to 9 miles away from San Pedro town. Secret Beach is visited because of the beautiful crystal-clear water, 80 percent of the time it is calm and there is no seagrass bed there. It is a sandy bottom at an average depth of 3 to 8 feet. You You could spend as much time as you want at the Secret Beach. Sunset is available once it is requested at no extra cost. Once on board and you are ready to head back to your resort or hotel, it is just 30 to 40 minutes depending on where you are staying on the island. On this day tour, you choose starting time and returning time. For each activity, you could stay as long as you like. You could start as early as 8 a.m. and end at sunset.
